FAQ

How long will it be before we can paint on a skimmed wall after it’s been plastered?
I would always recommend between 3-4 days following a skimmed plaster finish. This should allow enough time for the water and dampness in the plaster to dry out before painting can begin.

How do we need to prep the space before plastering can begin?
For rooms that are being re-plastered all existing wallpaper needs to be removed or scrapped off prior to any plastering work. This can be made much easier by running a warm sponge over the existing wallpaper.
All furniture is best removed from the space not only to maximise the working space but also to prevent damage on items that may be exposed to drips and splashes of plaster.

How can we prevent the dust throughput the house?
It’s of course commonly known throughout the industry that plastering is one of the messiest trades around. Therefore laying out of dust sheets should be a standard for any good plastering firm. However blocking areas that may be in the line of fire for dust to settle is always recommended. Sourcing some plastic sheets to tape over doorways/openings is always very effective.
